CORTEX® V1: VHF Radio with SOTDMA SmartAIS & Remote Monitoring Hub

The Cortex® V1 revolutionizes VHF marine communication and safety, serving as an advanced **communications hub** that integrates a powerful **25 W VHF radio**, **SOTDMA Class B SmartAIS**, and **remote vessel monitoring/control**. The system includes the Cortex M1 hub and an intuitive **Cortex H1 tethered handset**. With crystal-clear 85 dBA audio and voiced collision alerts, the Cortex V1 delivers unprecedented situational awareness and security, both onboard and ashore.

    INTEGRATED SMARTAIS & COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Cortex SmartAIS proactively analyzes vessel data and predicts collision threats, providing easy-to-understand avoidance cues and superior peace of mind.

    KEY SAFETY & COMMUNICATION FEATURES

    • SOTDMA SmartAIS: Built-in Class B AIS transponder continuously monitors surrounding vessels, calculates crossing situations, and provides voiced alerts for collision threats.
    • Intuitive Handset Control: The H1 handset features a responsive **touchscreen, click-wheel, and dedicated MOB button** for simple, one-hand operation, even when wet or wearing gloves.
    • Remote Monitoring & Control: Cortex apps (via Wi-Fi/Cellular) allow you to **monitor built-in sensors** (GPS, battery, barometer) and **remotely control onboard devices** (lights, bilge) from your compatible smartphone.
    • Anchor Watch & GPS: Accurately tracks boat movement and heading using **Multi-Constellation GNSS** (10Hz updates), alerting you if your anchor drags, both onboard and ashore (Premium subscription required for real-time remote alerts).

    NETWORKING & PERFORMANCE

The Cortex V1 is engineered for maximum performance, minimal effort, and robust integration.

    • **VHF Power:** 25 W transmit power with superior audio quality (up to 85 dBA).
    • **NMEA Gateway:** Translates data between NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183 networks, sharing fast 10Hz GPS data across all connected MFDs.
    • **Built-in Splitter:** Features a high-performance, no-loss VHF/AIS splitter, allowing you to retain your existing VHF radio and antenna.

    Inverell Boating Centre Expert Note:

The Cortex V1 is the future of marine safety, replacing multiple components with a single, highly sophisticated hub. The combination of SOTDMA AIS (superior to standard Class B), 25W VHF, and remote monitoring makes it essential for serious offshore and coastal cruisers. Note that remote control features and real-time remote monitoring require a Cortex Monitor Premium subscription.
