CORTEX® M1: SOTDMA SmartAIS Hub & Remote Vessel Monitoring
The Cortex® M1 Hub is the sophisticated core of your safety and monitoring system. It combines an advanced **SOTDMA Class B SmartAIS Transponder** with comprehensive **Remote Vessel Monitoring and Control** capabilities. Engineered for minimal power consumption (500mA typical), the M1 Hub stays on full-time to proactively warn you of collision threats, anchor drag, and man overboard (MOB) situations, delivering **voiced alerts** for critical events.
SMARTAIS, COLLISION AVOIDANCE & MONITORING
The Cortex M1 acts as a powerful NMEA gateway, GPS source, and security hub, offering peace of mind both onboard and when you are ashore.
KEY SAFETY & NETWORKING FEATURES
- SOTDMA AIS Transponder: High-speed Class B AIS actively broadcasts your vessel's location and heading (via built-in heading sensor) and monitors other vessels for collision risk.
- Remote Monitoring (Premium Subscription): Use the Cortex Monitor app to check battery voltage, bilge, security, and remotely control connected devices (like lights or air conditioning) via the hub’s control outputs.
- Anchor Watch & MOB: Accurately tracks boat movement and heading using **Multi-Constellation 10Hz GNSS**, alerting you immediately if the anchor drags or an MOB beacon is activated.
- VHF Ready: This hub is VHF-ready; simply add a Cortex handset (sold separately) to gain full 25W VHF radio capability.
ROBUST TECHNOLOGY & INSTALLATION
The Cortex M1 simplifies complex wiring, replacing multiple devices with one reliable, durable hub.
- **NMEA Gateway:** Translates data between NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183, ensuring all onboard equipment benefits from the M1's fast GPS and sensor data.
- **Built-in Sensors:** Includes GPS, heading sensor, barometer, and battery sensor for out-of-the-box monitoring.
- **Low Power Draw:** Engineered for minimal power consumption (500mA typical) to remain active on watch, even when anchored.
Inverell Boating Centre Expert Note:
The Cortex M1 is the perfect safety and monitoring solution, offering superior SOTDMA AIS collision avoidance and remote digital switching. Note that this hub provides the power and processing; for full VHF transmission, the Cortex V1 bundle (which includes the H1 handset) or a separate VHF handset purchase is necessary.
