“I upgraded to the Garmin GT56UHD and the clarity is unbelievable. You can literally see fish moving around structure. Hard Rig Marine helped me pick the right setup and it’s been spot on since day one.”
Michael R. — Cairns, QLD -
“I’m not a tech person, but the team made it super easy to install my GT54UHD transducer. Works perfectly with my ECHOMAP — I’ve never had sonar this clear in the estuary before!”
Jenny L. — Mandurah, WA -
“The Airmar B175M changed my whole deep drop setup. Way better definition and stability compared to my old transducer. You get what you pay for — and these guys know their stuff.”
Ben T. — Newcastle, NSW
GARMIN GT51M-TM: Mid-Band CHIRP & Scanning Transducer (600W/500W)
The Garmin GT51M-TM is the perfect all-in-one transducer for **coastal and offshore fishermen**. This transom-mounted unit combines powerful **Mid-Band CHIRP Traditional Sonar (600 W)** with high-resolution **CHIRP ClearVü™ and SideVü™ scanning sonar (500 W per element)**. It is specifically optimized for rough sea conditions, delivering clear, crisp fish arches, superior target separation, and clear pictures of structure down to 1,800 feet.
DEEPWATER PERFORMANCE & SCANNING CLARITY
The GT51M-TM utilizes mid-band CHIRP frequencies (80–160 kHz) to achieve better depth penetration and superior performance in coastal and offshore environments.
KEY SONAR & COVERAGE FEATURES
- Traditional Mid-Band CHIRP: 600 W power for depths up to **1,800 feet**, optimized for deep coastal fishing.
- CHIRP ClearVü™ Depth: Scanning depth up to **1,000 feet**, delivering clear images of structure directly below the boat.
- CHIRP SideVü™ Range: Scanning range up to **750 feet** (to the sides) for quickly scoping out large fishing areas.
- Advanced Frequencies: Utilizes Mid-Band CHIRP (80-160 kHz) and ClearVü/SideVü CHIRP frequencies (260 kHz and 455 kHz) for broad coverage and sharp target detail.
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIVITY
The GT51M-TM is a reliable 12-pin transducer designed for robust transom mounting.
- **12-Pin Connection:** Uses the standard 12-pin connector for simultaneous Traditional, ClearVü, and SideVü data output.
- **Cable Length:** Includes a long **30-foot cable** for flexibility in installation on medium to large vessels.
- **Temperature Sensor:** Features a built-in fast-response temperature sensor.
Inverell Boating Centre Expert Note:
The GT51M-TM is specifically designed to perform in the challenging coastal and offshore environment where deeper penetration (1,800 ft Traditional) and rough water stability are essential. It requires a compatible Chartplotter with a 12-pin port and built-in CHIRP/scanning capability (e.g., GPSMAP xsv combos or ECHOMAP Ultra/UHD2 sv models [1]).
