“I upgraded to the Garmin GT56UHD and the clarity is unbelievable. You can literally see fish moving around structure. Hard Rig Marine helped me pick the right setup and it’s been spot on since day one.”

“I’m not a tech person, but the team made it super easy to install my GT54UHD transducer. Works perfectly with my ECHOMAP — I’ve never had sonar this clear in the estuary before!”

    Jenny L. — Mandurah, WA

“The Airmar B175M changed my whole deep drop setup. Way better definition and stability compared to my old transducer. You get what you pay for — and these guys know their stuff.”

    Ben T. — Newcastle, NSW

GARMIN GT8HW-TM: High-Wide CHIRP Traditional Sonar Transducer (250W)

The Garmin GT8HW-TM is a high-performance **Traditional Sonar transducer** perfect for shallow water fishermen who require clear bottom definition and crisp, wide fish arches. This 8-pin unit features **High-Wide CHIRP Traditional Sonar (145–230 kHz)** and has a power rating of **250 W**, providing depths up to **800 feet (freshwater)**. The wider beam width (up to 24 degrees) delivers a significantly larger coverage area beneath the boat.

    HIGH-WIDE CHIRP CLARITY & COVERAGE

The GT8HW-TM is specialized for freshwater and inshore fishing applications, where maximizing coverage area and target separation is crucial.

    KEY SONAR & PERFORMANCE FEATURES

    • High-Wide CHIRP: Operates across the 145–230 kHz band, ensuring excellent target separation and definition.
    • Wide Coverage: Features a beam angle up to **24 degrees**, providing a large coverage area to maximize the chance of locating fish.
    • Deep Capability: Achieves depth capability up to **800 feet** in freshwater.
    • Versatile Mounting: Can be mounted on the transom or a trolling motor, with an **in-hull mount** option also available.

    INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIVITY

The GT8HW-TM is a reliable, plug-and-play transducer using the 8-pin connector.

    • **8-Pin Connector:** Uses the 8-pin connector for power and data output.
    • **Cable Length:** Includes a robust **20-foot cable** for flexible routing.

    Inverell Boating Centre Expert Note:

The GT8HW-TM is a dedicated Traditional Sonar unit (no scanning capability) optimized for the high-wide frequency range (145–230 kHz). This is the best choice when maximum bottom coverage in relatively shallow water is the priority. Ensure your Chartplotter has a compatible 8-pin port and does not require ClearVü or SideVü from this transducer.
